What Are PRP Treatments?
PRP Treaments are a scientifically proven method of treating hair loss. PRP, in essence, is treating areas with poor blood circulation with platelet-rich plasma to stimulate healing and growth. Plasma has a high percentage of growth factor, which your body uses naturally to promote growth.
How Do PRP Treatments Work?
Plate-Rich Plasma treatments work using your own growth factor. Blood is drawn from the patient, then processed through a centrifuge. This separates the red blood cells from the plasma. The plasma is then injected carefully, using a precise pattern to the treatment area.
Do Treatments Hurt?
As with any treatment involving injections and blood-drawing, mild discomfort may be experienced. Minimal bruising may occur post-treatment.
What Can I Expect?
At your initial appointment, you will meet with your Medical Esthetics Team member and your treatment area will be assessed according to your wants and needs. Your next appointment will be the first treatment. Treatments are typically performed once a month for the first three to four months, and then every three to six months thereafter, depending on the individual patient’s response and results. Following this protocol, anticipated results can first be seen within two to three months.
Is There Any After-Care?
Minimal downtime is required. It’s recommended that the patient take a hot shower after treatments as the warm water will improve circulation to the treatment area.
